Captioning is broader than alt text and different from OCR
OCR extracts words that already exist inside an image. Alt text describes an image for accessibility inside a page context. Image captioning is wider: it summarizes what the image shows in natural language, including subjects, setting, actions, and sometimes mood. That makes it useful when the image itself is the thing you need to understand.
If an image contains meaningful written text, you can pair this tool with Image to Text. If you need a short accessibility-ready description, Alt Text Generator is the better follow-up step.
